Challenges
The problem
TDS compliance is rule-heavy and deadline-driven. Teams re-key accounting data into spreadsheets, apply section/threshold rules by hand, and reconcile challans and returns manually.
Architecture
Shape of the system
- Multi-company, multi-tenant model enforced server-side on every route; the client-sent company id is never trusted.
- Granular RBAC with permission strings, plus an append-only audit log (who/what/when/before/after).
- Short-lived JWT access tokens with rotating httpOnly refresh cookies.
- Connectors for accounting and ERP data feed a canonical transaction model; the original payload is preserved for audit.
- Chunked, idempotent sync with self-healing of crashed jobs; CSV/XLSX import with preview, mapping and row-level error reports.
Solutions
What it covers
Foundation and access control → accounting integration → deterministic TDS rule engine (deductees, PAN) → challans and reconciliation → return preparation and validation → filing records, acknowledgements, corrections, certificates → reports, compliance calendar, approvals, hardening and tests.
