Challenges
The problem
The systems of record were fixed and could not be changed. New applications still needed their data, safely, and without creating a second source of truth.
Architecture
Shape of the system
- An MCP server over the ERP database exposes a controlled, read-only tool surface; consumers never receive a database connection.
- An accounting-system connector speaks the product's HTTP/XML interface; a small Windows bridge installer runs next to it.
- Table/column assumptions are discovered, not hard-coded; findings are documented (data model, project flow, owner reports).
Solutions
Outcome
A stable integration layer used by the intelligence and compliance platforms (Nexus, TDS) and by the AI assistant.
